As the Netherlands’ Defence Attaché for Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei and Thailand, Col. Norbert Moerkens plays a key role in managing and coordinating security exercises in one of the world’s most vital regions.
Armed with more than 35 years of experience in the Netherlands Armed Forces, Col. Norbert has served on tours of duty in Angola, the Balkans and Afghanistan, and has also been the Netherlands Military Advisor to the United Nations in New York. In addition to his military duties, Col. Norbert has also served as the Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he was responsible for overseeing trade and development programmes.
