Six people washed away in gushing waters in rain-hit Telangana districts | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: As many as six people, including a newlywed bride, were washed away in overflowing streams in two separate incidents in Telangana’s Vikarabad and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts.
In rain-hit Vikarabad, six people, including a newly married couple, got stuck in a stream while they were returning in their car to Ravulapalli.
While the bridegroom and his sister managed to hold on to tree branches, the other four got washed away.
The bodies of the bride, Pravalika, and that of a sister of the bridegroom were recovered on Monday.
Police said that efforts were on to locate the driver and a child.
In another incident, two girls were washed away in an overflowing stream in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
They were riding pillion on a two-wheeler which got stuck in the stream.
The man who was riding the bike was able to save himself but the girls got washed away by the water.
The incident took place in Dosala Vaagu (stream) in Kurraram.
Police have launched efforts to locate and rescue the missing victims.
In both the incidents, it was the sudden gush of water that resulted in the mishap.
