A Meeting of Sun and Earth in Cambodia

Cambodia is developing its first-ever groundmounted solar photovoltaics (PV) project to tackle the nation’s increasing demand for electricity by expanding its solar generation capacity. The country’s solar generation power is only at 10 MW currently.

This huge development project is said to be led by Kudun & Partners – Thailand’s energy expert, together with B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited – Thailand’s largest developer of infrastructure on a cross-border investment transaction that has successfully acquired 100% shares for the project.

Over the past decade, the nation’s electricity usage skyrocketed – averaging a 20 percent annual increase in demand since 2010. Owing to Cambodia’s sunny climate, the nation is believed to have strong solar-development potential, with an estimated minimum of 8,000 megawatts of capacity.
